Most SAT programs in Taipei operate on a simple assumption: more hours, more drills, more practice tests equals a higher score.

It's not wrong. It just produces a certain kind of student — one who can perform under familiar conditions but struggles the moment something unfamiliar appears. The Digital SAT is adaptive. It is specifically designed to find the ceiling of what a student actually understands. You cannot drill your way past that ceiling.

We believe the only sustainable path to a high SAT score is genuine comprehension. Not familiarity with question types. Not memorized strategies. Actual understanding of how language works, how arguments are constructed, and how mathematical logic operates.

This is what we mean by clarity of thought.

When a student can read a passage and immediately identify what the author is actually arguing — not what they think they're supposed to find, but what is genuinely there — they stop guessing. When a student understands why a math problem works the way it does, they stop second-guessing. Confidence follows comprehension. Scores follow confidence.

This is why our classes are small. Not because it's a selling point, but because real teaching requires real attention. You cannot develop a student's thinking in a room of twenty. You can in a room of ten.

This is why our hours are shorter. Not because we're doing less, but because we're doing it better. Fatigue is the enemy of comprehension. We'd rather have two sharp hours than five exhausted ones.

This is why Kevin teaches every class himself. Because the quality of thinking in the room begins with the quality of the person leading it.

We're not here to be another cram school. We're here because we genuinely believe students deserve better — and because we know it works.

  • Acta Academy's SAT Intensive is designed for Grade 9–12 students planning to apply to universities in the US, UK, or Australia. Foundations is ideal for students starting SAT preparation from scratch or needing a comprehensive review of every Digital SAT domain. Mastery sessions suit students with foundational knowledge who are ready to target a specific test date. Not sure which session fits your child? Contact us — we'll figure it out together.

  • Foundations is Acta’s comprehensive Digital SAT program — covering every domain of the test from the ground up. It's designed for students who want to fully understand the SAT before sitting it.

    Mastery sessions are intensive and targeted, built for students who are ready to peak for a specific SAT test date. Many students complete both Foundations and a Mastery session for the strongest possible result.

  • The right time to start depends on your child's current level and target score — not on how many months they can endure a program. ACTA believes in focused, high-quality preparation over cramming. A student who thinks clearly for six weeks will outperform a student who drills mindlessly for six months.
