Dungeons & Dragons for Kids

MakE learning fun with the classic roleplaying game

Are you ready to embark on an adventure with Teacher Caroline (long-time D&D player & streamer)? We combine "English teaching" with "story games" to bring a fun and meaningful English speaking class!

🎲 What is D&D?

D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) is a role-playing game. All we need are some dice and paper to play! Each player is the protagonist of the story, taking action through "narration", unleashing the limitless imagination and narrative abilities of young adventurers!

🧙‍♂️ How to play D&D?

  • Prepare your adventure gear: Bring your imagination and English expression skills

  • Become the protagonist: Create your own character and step into magical forests and ancient castles for adventures

  • Enter a fantasy world: Caroline will play the role of the Dungeon Master, setting up the world and guiding the story

  • Team collaboration: Discuss and cooperate with other young adventurers to overcome challenges together

  • Break through language barriers: Naturally improve your English skills in exciting plot developments!

🌟 Who can participate in D&D?

  • Suitable for young adventurers above third grade

  • Brave souls who have been learning English for at least four years

  • Kids who love fantasy and magic, enjoy expressing themselves, and playing games!

🏆 Course Features

  • Integrate English learning directly into story contexts, inspiring students' self-expression abilities and creative thinking

  • Stimulate children's strategic prowess and public speaking

  • Naturally improve oral communication skills through role-playing

  • Each adventure leaves children wanting more

  • Inspire unlimited creativity. Teacher Caroline says, "The children's imagination is so rich, our brains can't keep up with their pace!" 😂

🎉 Small Class Teaching, Big Learning RESULT

To ensure each young adventurer can play to their heart's content and speak to their fullest, each class is limited to only 4 young adventurers!

Are you ready to embark on this mind-stimulating, English-improving fantasy journey? Join us and make English learning the adventure you look forward to every day!

Why we LOVE This D&D Class

  1. Awareness Through role-playing and story creation, students can deeply explore their inner world, cultivating emotional intelligence and empathy. In the fantasy world of D&D, each character's choices reflect the player's inner self, promoting self-awareness and growth.

  2. Creativity In the infinite possibilities of D&D, each student becomes a creative storyteller. The game encourages students to unleash their boundless imagination, creating their own fantasy worlds, designing unique characters, and adventure plots.

  3. Teamwork D&D adventures are never solo missions. The game cultivates students' communication skills and team spirit, teaching them to support each other, solve problems together, overcome challenges, and grow as a team.

  4. Action In D&D, knowledge and action are closely integrated. Students are not passive listeners but protagonists and practitioners of the adventure. They need to immediately apply their English knowledge in the game, make decisions, and drive the story forward.

Through this innovative teaching method, we integrate English learning into story contexts, inspiring students' self-expression abilities and creative thinking while cultivating their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. With the combination of ACTA and D&D, learning is no longer a tedious task but an adventure full of surprises and fun!

Teacher Caroline

About Caroline:

Caroline is an English teacher and artist. She is a cofounder of Acta Academy and focuses on elementary and middle school student education. She graduated from UC Berkeley 2019 with BAs in Political Economy and Global Studies and a minor in Public Policy.

Storytelling has always been an important facet of her life — from acting on the stage since middle school, to improv skits as an adult, to participating in an entire theater production over zoom during Covid-19 and role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. Caroline believes that there is magic in storytelling that can transport all of us to new worlds, help us develop our own imaginations, and empower us to find the stories we can tell with our own unique voice. She sees storytelling as the way to create change and allow students to speak up with their own voice.
